As a Western Sydney University community member, please see below for a list of support services available at WSU. These services are free and confidential for you to use. Booking an appointment is easy, click the links below to find out more and to get in contact with our friendly admin team.

The Counselling Service is a team of qualified social workers and psychologists who provide free, confidential counselling services as early as possible before studies are affected.
Free Counselling Service for telephone or Zoom sessions can be made by telephoning
1300 668 370 (option 5).
If you've wanted to talk to a counsellor but were uncomfortable making an appointment, feel free to use our online eCounselling service that allows you to ask questions from the comfort and privacy of your own computer.
You can send an email to counselling@westernsydney.edu.au with your question as a great first step to getting the information and support you need.
Our office hours are Monday to Friday 9.00am - 4:30pm.

The Student Welfare Service provide support and referrals for students experiencing financial hardship and accommodation issues. They can also help students to understand university applications and processes and assist with student advocacy needs.
The Welfare team provide tailored support to student carers, international students, and Asylum Seeker Scholarship holders.

The Disability Service is a team of professional Disability Advisors and trained educational support staff that provide support and assistance to future and current students with disabilities and chronic health conditions to help them reach their full academic potential. Campus Safety and Security is a full service security team responsible for the safety and security of all
students, staff and visitors. We are also responsible for ensuring the security and accessibility
of all campus buildings and facilities. Call the 24 hour security hotline on 1300 737 003
or call 2300 from any fixed internal phone on campus if you have immediate concerns for your personal safety.

The Mental Health and Wellbeing site offers a number of resources which may help you maintain positive mental health and wellbeing.
You may also use them if you are concerned about mental health changes for yourself, a family member, friend or colleague.

The Complaints Management and Resolution team works within the Complaint Handling and Resolution Policy explains how Western Sydney University deals with all types of complaints from staff, students and the public.
It covers complaints about unfair and/or disrespectful actions or decisions, as well as complaints about bullying, discrimination, harassment, sexual harassment, vilification and victimisation.

The Student Legal Services (SLS) is a legal advice and referral service for current students and provides advice in the following areas of law: tenancy, debt/credit issues, minor crimes, consumer rights, motor vehicle accidents, traffic offences, employment law.

The Ally Network is a group of students and staff across the University who are committed to creating an inclusive and respectful culture at the University for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer (LGBTIQ) community members. Ally network members (Allies) are not necessarily experts on matters relating to sexual identity or gender but are understanding of the reasons why many LGBTIQ people are fearful of being harassed or discriminated against.
Allies have participated in training, are involved in the ongoing activities of the Ally Network and are available to provide help and support to LGBTIQ students and staff.The University has more than 200 staff and student Allies who are LGBTIQ aware and friendly, endorsed by the University to provide LGBTIQ related information and support.
