Better Access Initiative
The Better Access initiative is available to patients who have been assessed by a GP as having a mental diagnosis who would benefit from a structured approach to the management of their treatment needs, and assists through issuing up to 10 mental health services sessions eligible for Medicare benefits

Opening Hours:
Referral Eligibility: There is no standard form for referrals. It can be a letter or note that the referring medical practitioner has signed and dated. A patient must be assessed as having a mental disorder and referred by: • a GP who is managing the patient under a GP Mental Health Treatment Plan or under a referred psychiatrist assessment and management plan • a psychiatrist, or • a paediatrician
Fees: All patients require a current MHTP or PAMP where relevant, to claim a Medicare benefit for Better Access services.
