The Better Access initiative is increasing community access to mental health professionals and team-based mental health care, with general practitioners encouraged to work more closely and collaboratively with psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, registered psychologists and appropriately trained social workers and occupational therapists.

Opening Hours:

Referral Eligibility: There is no standard form for referrals. It can be a letter or note that the referring medical practitioner has signed and dated. A patient must be assessed as having a mental disorder and referred by: • a GP who is managing the patient under a GP Mental Health Treatment Plan or under a referred psychiatrist assessment and management plan • a psychiatrist, or • a paediatrician
